by Jenn
My love for crafting started back in 2000 when I took a beginners scrapbook class at a local Jo-Ann's store. I was immediately hooked. I have a love for paper, stamps, paint, ink, vintage, and anything and everything I can get my hands on and put on a canvas, scrapbook page or card.

I take online classes to learn new techniques and to practice more of what I am making. I opened my Etsy shop in May of 2012 after many of my friends saw what I was making and said that I needed to sell it. I have a passion for what I make. I always keep my art uplifting and bright. It makes me happy to see the smiles on peoples faces when they receive a piece of what I make.

Every Pretty Thing

Organize your tools and supplies in places that are easy to reach. When you are on a creative roll, you want to be able to find what you are looking for! Keep things in little bins or containers that you can bring with you wherever you create.

Where do you keep your supplies and tools so that they are easily accessible?

Jewelry Box, Monograms, Nursery Art, Bridal Shower Gifts...anything you see can be custom-made according to your specifications http://www.etsy.com/shop/EveryPrettyThing . This means that Jackie can change color scheme or size! She welcomes custom orders, and loves the opportunity to work on huge canvases, so don't be afraid to ask if you have wonderful ideas!

I'm Jackie of EveryPrettyThing, and I make a ton of things! I started out with nursery art canvases with decoupaged animals, and then expanded into decoupaged jewelry boxes of all shapes and sizes, and then expanded into pillows inspired by my canvases.

I've recently added a dark-stained men's jewelry box (for cuff links and watches and such) that I absolutely love! I work in my half of the home office. It was getting a little cramped until I got a big table for craft fairs...we set it up to see how big it was, and it magically became my new crafting table! This may have irked the husband a little, but I think it's lovely! Now I have lots of room to spread out. The threat of "If it gets messy, it'll have to go!" is the best motivation for staying organized...I don't want to lose my big table!

I make very sure that I clean up every little scrap of paper every night (a task I used to be terrible about putting off until I was buried!). I find that if I clean my workspace every day, it doesn't get unmanageable. I know that seems like a no-brainer, but I'm a lazy thing and don't like to do that, so it was a big breakthrough for me!

A Cozy Cluttered Corner

I absolutely love oo0oSUGARo0oo 's name. I think it is a perfect fit to her sweet and
delectable creations. If you are looking for a burst of colour and happiness...be sure to visit her shop.

"I create in a really cluttered, but cozy room, a corner of my bedroom. It is not nicely decorated like many rooms of designers or artists but it works for me. My working table is always full of materials whether I am working on my fabric cutwork or making beaded jewellery. To be honest, I never grew up having my bedroom nice and tidy. I was never proud of it. But I do feel better when I went to art school and found out that many creative people are the same and that I am not just very lazy. (or maybe I am? Hahaha…)

Ilove to wear and make my own jewellery when I was in high school so I got into university for jewellery design. But during second year, I realized that I have no interest in making silversmith jewellery. I found out that I need to see more colours so I switched my major to fibre art and start working with paper and fabric in rainbow colours. I love to draw flowers, leaves, plants, fruits, anything organic.

I also like to do pattern design. The flower and bird patterns of my fabric cutworks all came from my line drawings.
Many of my inspiration come from wondering in the park, staring at plants, flowers, and tree, and more, daydreaming about colours, and much much more.Right now, my goal is to create things that would add a fresh, happy and bright colour whether at home on the wall, against a person’s skin, or on any wearable items."
