Etsy Studio's Very First Giveaway

Ahhhh... Love Is In The Air!
Etsy Studios is jumping with joy to feature its very first GIVEAWAY by such an amazingly talented Etsian The Silver Lake Studio.

Here is the gorgeous piece created by our featured artist Sherry!

Sherry from The Silver Lake Studio describes how she created this gorgeous piece:

It is a little under 2" tall and a little over an inch wide. It is marked .925. The heavy guage jump ring on top is soldered on, so it should never come loose. Now let me tell you how this was created. First I drew a picture of the heart on some sterling silver sheet metal and sawed it out by hand. Using files and sandpaper, I cleaned it up and made everything smooth. Then I made a spiral out of some sterling wire. The back of the wire swirl had to be sanded flat so it would make complete contact with the heart. Then, I soldered the wire onto the heart. Next, I soldered the jump ring on top. Then I ran it thru the tumbler for 2 hour, and added patina to the inside. Finally I added some texture to make it pop. This is a technique I developed and I call it "Sparkle Brushed". This is my own original design and it cannot be copied in any way.

Vintage Style Charm

The first of many talented featured Etsians for 2009!

MaruMaru features a variety of retro and vintage style charms.

I can't imagine living without color, so my pieces are photographed with bright and colorful Japanese origami papers. My inspiration comes from anywhere from childhood memories to listening to The Beatles and playing in my grandmother's garden in Japan. Resin is my favorite material to work with because it gives my pieces that glass-like finish. I'm also in love with Czech flower beads and rose cabochons. I usually start out my day by drinking green tea and playing around in my jewelry supply box, and trying to come up with some fun ideas while having Waikiki Beach as my backyard. There's so many things to
create and not enough time in a day!

I need you! Etsy Studios!

Hello everyone! I have had an amazing response to Etsy Studios. Guess what? I am all caught up with featuring everyone who sent in their information. Over 100 people responded to be included, so now I'm just waiting for them to send in their paragraphs and pics!

If you want to be featured it's easy as pie! All you have to do is write up a couple of paragraphs about what you do, where you create, your organization, any tips or inspiration. With this send a couple of pics. I like the pictures that have you working in your space and so do others.
