Etsy Studio's Very First Giveaway

Etsy Studios is jumping with joy to feature its very first GIVEAWAY by such an amazingly talented Etsian The Silver Lake Studio.

Here is the gorgeous piece created by our featured artist Sherry!

Sherry from The Silver Lake Studio describes how she created this gorgeous piece:

It is a little under 2" tall and a little over an inch wide. It is marked .925. The heavy guage jump ring on top is soldered on, so it should never come loose. Now let me tell you how this was created. First I drew a picture of the heart on some sterling silver sheet metal and sawed it out by hand. Using files and sandpaper, I cleaned it up and made everything smooth. Then I made a spiral out of some sterling wire. The back of the wire swirl had to be sanded flat so it would make complete contact with the heart. Then, I soldered the wire onto the heart. Next, I soldered the jump ring on top. Then I ran it thru the tumbler for 2 hour, and added patina to the inside. Finally I added some texture to make it pop. This is a technique I developed and I call it "Sparkle Brushed". This is my own original design and it cannot be copied in any way.

Craig's List

Well I joined Craig's list the other day and posted my first add. It was quite easy and relatively painless. I was expecting something more spectacular with all of the hipe but it was straight forward with no bells or whistles. After you sign up with a user name and password, you simply choose a city to list your add in. Next you fill in the title for Craig's list for your add and a description of what you are selling. I basically did a general description and listed my websites to connect my Etsy shops and blog. I'm not sure if there is anything else I can do to make it work in a better way for me. Maybe someone knows a trick. When I reasearched Craig's list there were a few cautions about what people are selling and scams . All in all it seems like a pretty harmless venture. If you click on the title "Craig's List" above it will bring you directly to the site.
