Pendant bird cage, silver pendant and silver chain long necklace
by Tanya
I come from a family of accomplished artistic women who have encouraged an enthusiasm and flair for art and design and I was always happiest when I had a pencil and paper to hand. I started designing jewellery when I was very young and as I grew my interest in design and fashion took me down new and interesting avenues. At school I studied Art and textiles and then went on to college to get my A Levels in fine art, textiles, graphics and photography. It was only in the last few years that my passion for jewellery design was reignited and I started creating handmade jewellery pieces steadily again.
vintage rose necklace, antique copper chain with rose and flower beads.
I have always loved fashion and the way one can express themselves and their character and personal style through what they wear. I am particularly drawn to jewellery because it adds that personal touch to an outfit that brings it together and can change what you are wearing from day wear to evening wear. You can take a simple black dress and make it pop just by adding a statement necklace. I believe a person’s choice in jewellery reveals something about that person. Those special jewellery pieces can stay with you while the every changing high street fashion races on at a pace.

I love creating bespoke pieces for people that are individual, unique and precious to them. I know how annoying it is when you have an idea of the type of jewellery you would like to compliment that special outfit but you can’t find it anywhere. Knowing that I can create that piece for someone to add the sparkle they have been looking for makes me happy.

I love working with wire, chain but most of all I enjoy working with gemstones because of there beautiful natural tones, and shapes that are unique in every stone. Gorgeous autumnal browns and oranges are my favourite hues to work with, but admittedly I’m a bit of a magpie and also love the bling and razzle, dazzle of faceted quartz and Swarovski crystals.

My personal style and taste in jewellery leans to boho, tribal jewellery or modern abstract silver pieces. My creative process is very hands on, so I’m normally inspired to make something because I’ve found some beautiful beads that I want to make a focal feature in my design.

Unlike my daily life which is neat, clean and well managed I tend to create artistically in organized chaos! I have slowly encroached upon my husband’s office space and started to turn it into my own studio. I think I have managed to convince him that turning the office into my own “beading room” is a good idea because it would get rid of all my beads, bits and bobs from our living area.

Quote I really like is -

"I'm not weird, I'm limited edition."

but for something more serious and inspiring I love this -

"Dreams are only dreams until you wake up and make them real."

by The Black Factory
Hi! My name is Adriana! I'm a freelance interior designer that loves drawing and photography.
I've been drawing since I can remember so I decided to open a shop while I'm finishing my design studies. I'm addicted to art. I often find myself sketching for hours while I have so much other work to do.

My inspiration comes from the nature and it's beauty. I spend a lot of time in forests and mountains and I can never get enough of it. That's why I started making photograms - one of a kind artworks representing objects that I choose - mostly plants that I gathered. My photograms are originals, created in a darkroom on 20 years old archival photo paper. My illustrations are prints of my originals, signed and dated on the back.

The process of creating something is very special to me so I always work while I'm alone. Life events often influence on my art. The most important thing about creative people is progress.
One of my favorite Oscar Wilde quotes is "A work of art is the unique result of a unique temperament."

Fall in Love and Bring Joy & Fun Into Your Life!

Be sure to visit Jo's Studio  http://www.etsy.com/shop/josstudio to
"fall in love, and bring joy & fun into your life ♥".

by Jo's Studio
Hiya, my name is Kara Joann and I am the creator of jo's studio. I am a creative by heart and love anything that is fun and unique. I went to school for graphic design and then I started jo's to share my passion. At jo's I can make just about anything that involves paper and design, like calendars, crafts circles, business cards, invites and art prints.

With my design background, I also love to make logos web banners and badges. A new thing that I am starting to get involved in is fabric covered buttons, I think they are so darling. Soon to arrive in my shop are fabric covered button hair ties, earrings, id badges, magnets, cufflinks and more.

I make all of my creations on my laptop in my little corner of the house or on the dining room table. Since, I am always moving where I am creating I keep things organized by having a bookshelf and file cabinet full of labeled boxes and folders.

It really helps me find things fast and keeps me from losing stuff. I draw my inspiration from many things, but I spend most of my time surfing the web or walking around craft stores. There are so many great ideas out there that give me the drive to want to create.

Kara loves animals, thunder storms, the smell of rain & fresh cut grass, shoes, canvas shopping bags, finding new music, flip flops, mascara, clean sheets, strawberries & bananas.

Victorian Princess or Dark Gothic Queen

Be sure to stop by and visit Jilted Coquette etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/JiltedCoquette . You will find " pieces that are inspired by Gothic Lolita fashion from Japan" where she strives to "create quality unique pieces that will transform you into a delicate Victorian princess, or a dark Gothic queen".

by Jilted Coquette

For many years I have been in love with Japanese fashion, and more specifically with Lolita and Aristocrat trends. While they are subcultures themselves, there are many subcultures contained within them. I try to create a variety of Lolita and Aristocrat styles, so that no matter your preference, classic or punk, gothic or sweet, you will find something that appeals to your personal tastes.

Part of my motivation for starting Jilted Coquette was the insatiable need to create. I’m a very tactile individual so working directly with a material is more satisfying to me than drawing or painting. My artistic roots are in Printmaking and New Genres, so I’m an odd combination of meticulous processes and subversion; I pay great attention to the smallest of details but also like to push boundaries, especially to an absurd extent.

The second half of my motivation came from the high price and inaccessibility of Lolita and Aristocrat items in the US. If you want to buy a name brand piece, you will have to order it online and have it shipped internationally, or find someone online via forums who is reselling items, often used. A simply adorned name brand headdress can easily cost $40 US while more elaborate pieces can price for much higher. I strive to create pieces that are not only beautiful and intricate, but also affordable.

While I derive my inspiration from a variety of Aristocrat and Lolita styles, it is not my intention to replicate a specific brand style. Each adornment is one of a kind and a labor of love. At the risk of over romanticizing them, deep down I consider each one to be a work of art.

I began making hair adornments earlier this year, and only opened my etsy shop in late May. I consider my work with Jilted Coquette to be a full time job and easily spend 10-12 hours a day creating and promoting my pieces. Having studied art and not business, I’m unfamiliar with entrepreneurship but I hope that, with hard work and dedication, I will one day be successful enough to open my own storefront.

A Visual Feast

Enjoy a visit to Mel's Art Buffet, a unique shop filled with wonderful treats for your eyes. Mel's Art Buffet offers unique designs for your unique taste.
"So if your eyes are hungry come on in and enjoy the visual feast of handcrafted jewelry."

by Mel's Art Buffet
My name is Melissa and I am the proud & hopeful owner of Mel's Art Buffet. Opening my Etsy shop was a huge step for me. I have enjoyed the site for so many years but was intimidated to take the leap. Mel's Art Buffet opened at the end of January 2010 & I couldn't be more pleased. The community has been so welcoming & friendly. It's a lovely home.

I have always had the need to make something, anything. Over the years I have concentrated my creative juices to focus primarily on jewelry. I started going to bead shows & making pieces for myself. And, one day it occurred to me, as my personal stash began to grow out of control, maybe someone else would like to wear this? I am self taught & anticipate learning the next technique which will undoubtedly lead to a world of possibilities.

Polymer clay is currently my medium of choice. I have been working with polymer for over a year now & have not even begun to push it to its limits. It does everything I ask and never argues. Polymer clay is a flexible blank canvas and has completely changed my jewelry designing. A whole new world has opened right in front of me, so exciting! I have been combining polymer clay with my signature thread inlay that I have been developing. The thread inlay evolved from my infatuation with light shades made from string, popular in the 70's. My jewelry is definitely different. But I hope that my unique style will catch on.

Inspiration comes easy to me & feel so lucky for this. My main inspiration is derived from food. I know this sounds crazy but stick with me...Quite a few years ago, I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, which means no gluten – a protein found in wheat, rye, barley, & oats. So, being on a restricted diet I eat visually what I'm not allowed physically. I love to read recipes but more so I love to look at food pics! Alluring food pictures & blogs are where I find major inspiration. I think food is beautiful & the colors are simply pure & inspiring. I can look at a picture of pizza & draw three jewelry sketches. So this is how Mel's Art Buffet blossomed, by combining my greatest loves in life, food  & art.

I don't have much luck with organization in my work space, see photo... but I do have one idea to share - I recently purchased 50+ small bags of seed beads from artbeads.com that were on sale for a $1 each. Seemed like a great idea at the time. Still excited when I received the package. Unwrapping, unwrapping, still unwrapping. Where in the world am I going to put 50 small baggies of beads? If I put them a small drawer organizer, I will rarely sift through to find the right color. After several days of contemplation, I found a solution that would work for me. I took a large Rubbermaid lid from a storage bin that had been sitting in the corner and drilled two holes at the top. Once I ran string through the holes, I was able to hang from the wall. I love velcro & can't seem to keep enough on hand. I placed a circle dot of velcro on the back of each baggie adhered the other end to the lid. Now all 50 bags are displayed for easy use & visibility :)

Help Someone Bring Out the Best in Themselves

"Anna Pereira, artist, entrepreneur, and former owner of the brand Super Sexy, has been painting and drawing since her early childhood and had won awards for her artwork in her youth. With her impeccable skills in airbrush and free hand painting and her amazing ability to transform a basic shirt into a jeweled corset, Anna was creating her artwork for clothing rather then canvas. She is a skilled artist and painter who had chosen to display her work on various styles of t-shirts and tank tops, with the goal of allowing women to feel confident, expressive and yes, Super Sexy!"
Have fun visiting her shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/AnnaPereira!

by Anna Pereira

Is it really worth getting up in the morning if you don't make a positive contribution to society, Earth or yourself? I like to feel good and I love making others feel good. There isn't a greater reward than helping someone to bring out the best in themselves.

My name is Anna and I have a hand painted and printed clothing line. I custom make shirts via screen print techniques and free hand dye effects and paint splatter. I mix my own dyes and paints and create my own screens. Also, I have a luxury handmade soap line that is decadent and pampering! My purpose is to help you feel and look your best.

I believe in positive energy and the law of attraction. If you believe it, you can live it. This has been a major influence that you can prominently see in my clothing line as well as my soap line aptly named "Angel Kissed" luxury soaps.

I live in NJ and my studio is located here. Every day I am doing something creative and hope to be an inspiration to others through my work and my friendship. My personal message: "Be good to yourself. Smile. And believe you can have and do anything. Maintain a positive attitude because even when you are down and you take a moment to realize how blessed you truly are, you will rise up out of your funk. Have gratitude. Help others. Stay focused."

Have a truly Blessed day!

Our Beautiful World

Enjoy a visit to Bedermann Art http://www.etsy.com/shop/BedermannArt where you will find inspirational photographs with vibrant images. "Everything I create is original, my photography is completely unique with some photos enhanced using Photoshop to bring out a stunning quality".

by BedermannArt
My favourite quote is "Love is shown by what we do, not by how we feel" (Author Unknown).

I have always loved photography, and when it went digital, I knew I had to try it. I bought a cheap camera and loved it. I experimented with Photoshop and other imaging programs and decided this was for me. I made the purchase of a great Canon SLR camera and through trials and triumphs here I am, continually learning and improving.

I can completely forget about problems when I am out in nature, concentrating on the perfect image and correct camera settings.

People loved my work and I was asked to show my photography in a few local Art Shows.
Lots of compliments and purchases and so I thought I'd give Etsy a try! I also have a gallery at Betterphotos.com DonnaBedermann. My workshop is just a computer, camera and lenses, and the beautiful world!

My Etsy shop has my Fine Art Photography as cards, 5x7,8x10 and square 6x6 and 8x8 prints, they are beautifully printed with lovely details. Some are enhanced to bring out an artistic quality clearly seen in the image. Please enlarge the photos to see the details. They are easy to pop into a frame, and there you go, original Art!

I love to hear from people with new ideas or feel free to just stop by and leave a comment on my blog http://www.artofamy.blogspot.com/.

A Passion For Fashion & Accessories

I loved hearing about the story behind the name of Valerie's lovely Etsy shop "My Little Bow"
http://www.etsy.com/shop/mylittlebow. She shares her story...

 Why mylittlebow?

"The name came naturally to me one day while I was sewing a bow tie for my fiancĂ© (now husband), so as to acessorize his “costume” for our photoshoot and I thought, wouldn’t everybody need something like a bow, a piece of something that can spice up your wardrobe or clothes! So mylittlebow was born, offering you apparel to spruce up your closet and accessories to add some zest to your clothes!"

by My Little Bow
Hi Everyone!
I am Valerie from the small sunny island of Singapore! Always passionate about fashion and accessories, I started making things since I was a teen! I love colours, flowers, birds and nature, thus much of them are reflected in the accessories I make! Of course, they are all made with premium materials and handmade with love!

I started out making accessories for fun, but eventually, with the encouragement of family and friends, decided to offer them to the public! I also love fashion, thus my online store http://mylittlebow.com carries apparel as well. However, I have decided to place a small collection of accessories on Etsy, hoping that someone out in other parts of the world would also love my art!

I believe that the love for pretty things is found in every girl and I hope to share my passion and creation with the rest of the world!

Thanks for the opportunity to share thereddoor!!!
