Mostly Black and White Framed Art

Personalized Framed Handmade Art, Matte

Enjoy a visit to Mostly Black and White where you will find personalized framed handmade paper art for any special occasion including birthday, wedding, engagement, anniversary, graduation, housewarming, thank you or congratulations moment.  Discover unique, vintage inspired, modern or romantic 3D collages for him or her.
I live in California with my husband and 3 children. We have emigrated from Poland almost 20 years ago, looking for a better life for our family, after living under communist regime for many years. I have stayed home with kids for many years, and over time- I have change my profession – I learned how to make computer maps and it is my full time job now.

I have opened my Etsy shop in April 2011. I make beautiful framed angels, that are unique, simple but elegant, romantic, and that can be personalized for many occasions. When a child is born –it is like an angel appearing in your life – what a better gift than an angel for a boy or a girl (in many different colors) with child’s name on the gift. When you want to thank your mom for being your angel – an angel with a “Thank you” note is a perfect gift.

Recently I have added a beautiful print to my collection "LOVE has many languages". It is a nice way to say "I love" for that special person in your life.

I like to travel – I and my family have been in most USA states, in many European countries, and recently visited Japan. When I am home - I love to read, watch good movies. I love to go to the beach. I like to spend time with young adults –my kids and their friends – I enjoyed their company, their spirit, interests, and discussions with them. I value time spending with good friends and good wine. I also love to cook and bake. Every year I walk in Huntington Beach marathon.
I am a night person. So in the evening, usually when I do not have to work the next day, I go to my StudioA (A stands for Anna) - which is at my beautiful home in California. I turn on some good music, I take out my papers, frames, and my imagination. I would never create something that I personally do not like. I love black and white colors, but I like to add accent of other colors – this is why my store name is “mostly black and white"
I plan to add some photos to my store from our many family trips.

In everything i do, i try to do to the best of my ability, and with every item i create goes all the determination, love and care, to give to someone some enjoyment out of. I really love art and crafts, it all started with my nan, she loved drawing and painting and so she taught me.

Using different paints, clay and fabrics has really inspired me to create every peice i create different from the last, which is what i love about Handmade items, everything is created with such enthusiasm and care.

My workspace is small compared to others workspaces, i'm a tidy person so i try to keep my workspace tidy,i love that i have my fish to keep me company during times when i'm busy painting or rolling out clay. Other needed objects such as paints, brushes, clay etc is all neatly put away in several boxes just waiting to be used.

I love everything i create, and i wear a few items myself that i've made especially for me. My Friends especially enjoy my hobby as they get free cute little gifts to wear. I try to provide real prices for everyone, you shouldn't have to break the bank to have something cute and fun.

I really hope i'll be continuing this for a long time.

Beauty From Within

Be sure to visit Inner Pieces Gallery and her unique Etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/InnerPiecesGallery   where you will find "designs that offer a modern approach to paper-cut art." The artist calls her designs "Lacuna Décor". In Latin, Lacuna means “empty space, or gap” and Décor means “beauty.” In other words, beauty comes from the space within! What begins as original illustrations transform into elegant pieces of framed inspiration.

For many people, I think that my style of artwork is simply fun to look at. It’s dimensional, it’s unusual, and it looks slightly different at different angles, especially as light upon it changes throughout the day. For me, though, the dimensional space between the layers speaks to me in a more personal way. Though this lesson may have cost me more than a few dramatic trials in life in order for me to finally learn, I now truly know that everything I need already exists within me. I need joy? I find it within. I need strength and courage? I find it within. I need patience and understanding? It’s all there, within me, ready whenever I need it.

Too bad that philosophy doesn’t really work when it comes to square footage. My tiny little home office is bursting at the seams with furniture and equipment. The digital cutting tool that I utilize (think double the size of a sewing machine) takes up half my desk. My computer takes up the other half. My solution? Buy an additional desk and somehow squeeze it in amidst the bookshelf, file cabinet, copy machine, printer, drawers, more drawers, shipping supplies, more supplies, and a closet full of please don’t ask. Not exactly an environment overflowing with creative energy.

I do a great deal of creating when I’m away from my office. I venture into the living room, the dining room, or anywhere the mood strikes me. I especially enjoy moving my “studio” outside. Recently, in order to determine the color combinations of my next designs, I brought my little hors d’oeuvres tray full of color swatches out to the back yard with me. Seeing the metallic paper sparkle in the sunshine connected me, in a way, to the little ones I actually design for, those pint-sized lovers of all things shiny and sparkly! I hope my work delights them, excites them, invokes a sense of wonder and curiosity. I especially hope they learn (a lot quicker than I did) that joy truly does begin within!
